WHAT IS RESPECT ADVOCACY PROJECT?

The project provides a service aimed at engaging young African, African/Caribbean, Dual heritage and hard to reach communities who are at risk of, or are currently not engaging in mainstream activities.

The service includes a programme of events and services that will target these young people and offer help to their family/ relatives which includes:

  • Counselling and Mentoring
  • Social/recreational & educational events.
  • Outreach work in local schools and other organisations.
  • A Saturday club that will focus on:
  • Parent and Child
  • Positive reading
  • Art therapy
  • Learning a language
  • D.J lessons
  • Learning different cultures
  • Understanding your legal rights
  • Curriculum support
  • Speaking to elders
  • Understanding history

THIS PROJECT WILL BENEFIT ALL INDIVIDUALS, ORGANISATIONS OR PEOPLE DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY INVOLVED WITH THE AFRICAN, AFRICAN/CARIBBEAN, DUAL HERITAGE COMMUNITY, SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND YOUTH GROUPS ETC.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

IS TO ENGAGE YOUNG PEOPLE FROM AFRICAN, AFRICAN/CARIBBEAN, DUAL HERITAGE AND OTHER HARD TO REACH COMMUNITIES IN POSITIVE ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES.

LOOKING AT ISSUES THAT AFFECT TODAY’S YOUNG AFRICAN, AFRICAN/CARIBBEAN, DUAL HERITAGE COMMUNITIES WHICH INCLUDES:
